Tour Overview
Located 200 miles from the coast of southern France and 8 miles from the Italian island of Sardinia, Corsica is a Mediterranean island with a rugged costaline and mountain villages. The Greeks named Corsica, Kalliste, “the most beautiful one” however, we call this bike tour the “challenging one” as it is one of our most difficult bicycle tour combining cycling and culture.

Day 1 & 2 Highlights
For your 1 st ride of the week, you get to test yourself on the Balagne Calvi loop. In the morning, you leave the town of Calvi on a coastal bike trail before reaching a more mountainous terrain. The ride to the first town is quite steep and challenging but once your are on the “ Plateau” where all the villages are located , the route sections are more relaxed. From there, the views on the mediteraneens and the surrounding towns are stunning. It is well worth the effort !
- Bike through the historic coastal town of Calvi rumoured to be the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, home to a Genoese citadel and a stunning sandy bay.

Pedal through artisan-filled La Balagne, “Strada degli Artigiani and climb to San Antonino, one of Corsica’s oldest villages, where cobbled streets and hilltop panoramas overlook the rolling Balagne countryside.
- Discover the timeless charm of villages like Pigna where cobblestone streets, vibrant arts, and Corsican polyphony (traditional singing) showcase the island’s rich cultural heritage.
Day 3 Highlights
Head onto the Porto, Piana & Scandonal Peninsual route which is Probably one of the most scenic route you will bike on during your cycling vacation. It starts with a nice downhill with stunning views of the mediterranean coast before becoming challenging and hilly towards the end near Piana.
- Ride past the Calanche of Piana, where towering red granite formations rise dramatically above the Mediterranean, creating one of Corsica’s most stunning coastal panoramas.
- Explore the Scandola Natural Reserve, a UNESCO-listed marine sanctuary, home to rugged cliffs, rare wildlife, and striking geological formations shaped by volcanic activity.


Day 4 Highlights
Tacke the col de bavella route, a scenic route that starts in Zonza, the heart of the alta rocca region. The road is a gradual ascent winding through jagged granite peaks and dense pine forests with occasional open mountain landscapes and the reward is well worth it ! On you way you may encounter wild boars and goasts crossing the roads making it a great photo opportunity ! Once you reach the col de bavella, you have amazing views on the granite peaks towering at almost 2000 meters….
- Descend into Zonza, a charming mountain village at the foot of Col de Bavella, known for its hiking trails, breathtaking landscapes, and traditional Corsican cuisine.
- Keep an eye out for Corsica’s unique wildlife, such as the Corsican mouflon or the many seabirds that inhabit the island’s diverse ecosystems.
Day 5 Highlights
- Pedal to Bonifacio, a breathtaking town perched on a limestone cliff above the Mediterranean facing the island of Sardinia located just 11 km away.
- Explore Bonifacio’s historic port, where Genoese influences, narrow alleys, and ancient fortifications create a timeless coastal atmosphere.
- Trade your bike for a jetski and head to the Lavezzi archipelago, a protected group of wild, uninhabited islands between Corsica and Sardinia, known for their turquoise lagoons and unique rock formations.
