Tour Overview
Explore one of the greatest French treasures on a guided bicycle tour: the Provence region located near the town of Avignon. On this bicycle vacation thru southern France, you get to ride thru lavender fields, discover beautiful Provencal market towns and villages that won’t let you indifferent.

Day 1 Highlights
Start the week on the the “lavender route”.
- Start riding from Sault, the heart of Provence’s lavender-growing region, where from late june to august, endless fields bloom into a breathtaking sea of purple, creating one of the most iconic landscapes in France.
- Descend into the Gorges de la Nesque, one of Provence’s most dramatic natural wonders, where winding canyon roads carved through limestone cliffs reveal breathtaking valley views.
Day 2 highlights
On day 2 and before doing the “planned route”, you have the option to climb to the summit of the Mont ventoux (aslo referred the “giant of Provence” starting from Bedoin. Often used as a stage of the tour de France it is a real challenge, it is 10 miles long and the sverage gradient is 8.5 %. The final stretch feels endless, but the view from the lunar-like summt makes every pedal stroke worth it.
For those of you that choose the do the easy route
- Climb to Vensaque, one of France most beautiful villages, perched on a rocky outcrop and offering amazing views on the dentelle de montmiraille and the mont Ventoux.
- Discover Gordes, one of France’s most beautiful villages, built from golden stone and perched above the Luberon Valley, with the Sénanque abbey’s lavender fields as a nearby highlight.


Day 3 Highlights
On day 3 you will be riding your bike in an area named the Luberon. Get on your bicycle start cycling and what is called the Luberon loop. It is an easy route with limited traffic taking you from one hilltop village to the other.
- Cycle across the Pont Julien, a 2,000-year-old Roman bridge, once part of the Via Domitia trade route, making it one of the oldest cycling landmarks in the Luberon.

Experience the stunning palette of colors Roussilon has to offer ranging from pale yellow to vibrant red and take a 30 minute tour of the sentier des ocres, the largest ocre deposit in the world, shaped overtime by water, wind, and human hands.

Pedal through Lacoste, home to the Château de Lacoste, once belonging to the infamous Marquis de Sade.

Stroll through Menerbes, a village in the heart of the Parc naturel regional du luberon that gained international fame thanks to Peter Mayle’s beloved book, a year in Provence, which described the charm of Provençal life
Day 4 highlights
Today, you get to discover another area of Provence, the alpilles. Start the day riding on the alpilles route, a scenic, easygoing route perfect for casual cyclists and e-bikes.
- Discover Saint-Rémy, where Van Gogh found inspiration at Saint-Paul de Mausole, painting some of his most famous works amid Provence’s golden light.
- Discover the romain ruins of Glanum, featuring some of France’s best-preserved Roman ruins.


Day 5 Highlights

Discover Eygalière, a town that has preserved its authentic charm, with stone houses framed with sweet smelling flowers giving you an idea of the beautfiul gardens beyond.

Immmerse yourself in the medieval charm of les Baux de Provence, one of France most beautiful village with it’s citadelle, the chateau des baux overlooking the alpilles countryside. Just outside of town, don’t forget to experience the “carrières de lumières” art show.

Tour the mas de gourgonnier, a family estate in the alpilles that produces excellent red and rose wines as well a some olive oil.

Crillon le brave
Flawlessly combining rustic charm and elegant luxury, Crillon-le-Brave is an old medieval town that has been converted into a magical hotel. The hotels offers dramatic views of the Mt. Ventoux and hotel rooms are nestled in individual stone houses that are scattered across the village (there are 32 bedrooms in seven different restored houses) Set above the vineyards each room is different and beautifully decorated to reflect the ambiance of each houses.

In the Château in 1772, the Marquis de Sade organised the first ever drama festival in France.
